Support Groups

We believe that any addiction or substance that has control over you can be conquered through the power of God, prayer, and through the support of friends.  Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians "I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.”  He also says in Galatians 5 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”  With this in mind, The Lake of the Woods Church and Living Water Community Clinic offer support groups to help people break addictions that have control over them.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available Monday evenings at The Lake of the Woods Church and Wednesday and Friday evenings at the RISE Center on Route 20. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. Weight Watchers

Our Weight Watchers support group encourages weight loss by making healthy food and lifestyle choices. The Weight Watchers plan is based upon the idea that dieting is only one part of a healthy lifestyle. The program stresses the importance of overall mental and physical health and well-being.  Weight Watchers meets at the RISE Center Wednesday evenings.
